Fashion Inspiration!

So i thought that it would be a good time to show all of you what inspires me! These are some pieces and outfits i found that i love! I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE PHOTOS. Just FYI.

Lets Start with the Ladies:

I am completely obsessed with pretty and interesting tights right now! They add a pop of interest to any dress or skirt! If you are looking to purchase some of these, Mod Cloth is the place to go!!

Braided buns are also on my list this summer. Hot weather and I are not friends and these buns are cute and keep my mane of hair off my neck!

Accessories! Pops of color and fun patterns make these small items into statement pieces! I completely ADORE this purse and wish i could find one like it!

Last but not least: Outfits!!! this summer for me its all about the high-low skirts. They are my go-to outfit. Always. They are so simple and pretty! The first outfit picture is literally what i wear (minus the heels).

The second thing to look for is sheer shirts and colored jeans! The neutral colors matched with the bright pastels make a great outfit for shopping or having dinner with the girls!

Last but not least!! Embellishments! it is all about the rock star studs, beads, chains, and rhinestones! I completely adore this shirt (above) with its mixture of studs and beads.

Don't Forget The Guys!!

Yes boys, tank tops are back!! I couldn't be more excited about this trend, i love a guy who can rock a tank! Grab one in a bold pattern, throw on some shorts and hit the streets!

Another trend i am seeing for the men is cuffed shorts! Especially the coral shorts, its like i am seeing them everywhere! And all of you know how i feel about coral...it's literally the best!

Next time you go shopping, go ahead and grab some striped, and faded jean shirts! button up or t-shirt doesn't matter! and don't be shy! layer them with those tanks you bought!

As far as shoes go...leather is rocking it this season! Very masculine, and very classic!

I hope these tips help you out! i know i will be using them! Now go rock your summer!

T-Shirt to Tank Top DIY

So it's hot right? And you have all of those t-shirts you wore in middle school, to hide your awkwardness, in the back of your closet. What are you going to do with them? Throw them out? NO! Repurpose them!!

what you need:
-old t-shirt (i bought mine at goodwill for memorial day!)
-scissors

Step 1: cut the sleeves off of the shirt. cutting past the stitching. keep the sleeves!! we will need them later!!

Step 2: turn the shirt so that the sleeves are matching

Step 3: cut the front of your neckline. if you have a design on yours that you wish to keep, your neckline might be more shallow.

Step 4: cut the back of your shirt (i cut mine a bit too deep..so try to make it come to the half way point of the opening for your arm.)
(my collage program stopped working :( so bear with me!)
Step 5: cut the sleeves in half, then into strips!

they should look like this^^

Step 7: take at least 3 of those strips and tie the two "straps"  together bringing the back into a T shape!

And you are done!!

hope you had fun!

Hair Bow DIY

Here is our first DIY! i used my lovely sister Erica for this one!

Step 1:
start with some sort of textured hair. you can wave your hair or curl it slightly if you have straight hair! my sister crimped her hair earlier today and also had mousse in it so that it stayed better!
Step 2:
pull your hair into a high ponytail! wrap your elastic around twice and pull it through
Step 3:
on the 3rd wrap around, make a bun! pull the "tail" of the bun to the front of your head.
Step 4:
part your bun into 2 sections
Step 5:
pull the "tail of your bun between the two sections and tuck under your elastic! fluff up the sides as desired and enjoy!!

This was so fun! i can't wait to wear this cute bun to bonfires, picnics and to the beach!! Leave us comments on your buns! Can't wait to see!!

First Blogger Style Post!!

Can you believe i found this lovely top and skirt combo at JC Penny's?! And for a grand total of $32?!?!   crazy right? but you don't get more "home town fashion" than that my friends!

Details: the orange/coral top is a button up and buttoned it 1/3 of the way down and tied the two sides in a knot. this way the front is shorter than the back! The skirt is self explanatory, and i paired it all with my favorite bag i have had for years and leather sandals from Sears!
hope your summer is going swimmingly!
